Today is the Feast Day of
Mary Magdalene, someone whose name is familiar but whose reputation and background may have been muddied and sullied by the Church over the years. In the Gospel of Luke (8:22), it's written that she was the one from whom Jesus cast out seven devils. After her healing, she became one of his most loyal followers, with the other women on the hill at Golgotha as he was crucified, and reported in the Gospels (John and Mark) to be the first person to see Jesus after his resurrection.
Ever wonder what those seven devils were? Poet
Marie Howe had an idea...You can read her work, "Magdalene -- the Seven Devils" and listen to her read the poem
HERE.
