God of love and justice, you make known your ways in the lives of your
saints. Your Son called Matthew known as
Levi, a loathed tax collector and swindler, to be His apostle and
evangelist. As with Matthew, free us
from all greed and selfish love that we may follow in the steps of Jesus Christ
our Lord now and always. AMEN.
