"Jesus Healed Many"

Today's service is provided by
Rev. Dr. Robert Sears
and
members of the Parish of St. Cyprian's,
Lacombe, Alberta

Notes on the Sermon from Rev. Robert:

" [The] sermon discusses Simon's mother in law's intuitive understanding of Jesus ministry of service -- diakoneo. She is raised up and the fever left her. Then she began to minister to them. In an apparently passing scene we see the heart of Jesus' ministry. Simon's mother in law was freed from illness, but more importantly she was freed for a greater purpose. By the next morning Jesus is ready to ask the disciples to go another way. Let's go to other town to preach, because that is why Jesus came. How do we make use of our freedom? What are we free for?"

Readings for Sunday, February 7, 2021

Isaiah 40: 21-31

Psalm 147: 1-11, 20c

1 Corinthians 9: 16-23

The Gospel of Mark 1: 29-39

Please note special prayers for Joyce Kischuk, whose husband of over 75 years died recently of COVID-19, and for Ron and Helen Wright.
