Today's "Summer Casual" online service is from the "Mid-day" Prayer office in the Book of Alternative Services (Anglican Church of Canada) and is provided by Rev. Robert Sears on behalf of the Anglican parish of St. John's, Olds, Alberta.
May it bless your day.
Readings for Sunday, July 24, 2022
Hosea 1: 2-10
Psalm 85
Colossians 2: 6-15 (16-19)
The Gospel of Luke 11: 1-13.
Please continue to pray for Jean C's daughter Amanda, who has now undergone two *major* surgeries to repair injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. She is still in hospital in Kelowna, B.C., but it is hoped that as soon as her condition is more stable, she will be able to be transferred to a hospital in Edmonton. Please hold her in your prayers, as well as Jean, and Amanda's children.
Rev. Robert will be on holiday from July 25 through August 16, so there will be no online services during that time -- and most likely through the rest of August, resuming in September. However, there may be reflections provided here on the parish blog and linked to the St. Cyprian's Facebook page for you to read, ponder and pray. In person services will continue in both parishes, with substitute clergy and lay ministers.
Please pray for those handling these tasks, as well as for the wardens covering parish needs, and for Robert and his family as they enjoy some time of rest and relaxation. Thank you.
