Preparing for Lent

Wednesday, February 22, 2023 is Ash Wednesday -- marking the beginning of Lent this year. For those who may want to take some time during this Lenten Season, author Kate Bowler has written Lenten Devotional Guides that are available free of charge.

There's one for individual reading and reflection, one for small group study, and one for those preparing sermons or homilies during the next several weeks.

NOTE: As of April 9, 2023, the Parishes of St. Cyprian's, Lacombe and St. John's, Olds, resumed receiving wine at Eucharist from the common cup. If this is uncomfortable for you, please know that you can accept the wafer of bread and then simply touch the base of the chalice of wine, and be deemed to have received the sacrament in both kinds. Coffee hour has been restored at St. Cyprian's parish, with a bit of distancing at the tables. Masks are optional, and a matter of personal choice, including during corporate singing.

Please continue in prayer for leaders at all levels, facing difficult decisions every day, for all on the front lines of health care and emergency response, for all facing illness of any kind, and/or grieving the loss of loved ones for any reason.
